Tripper Returns to DTE Energy Music Theatre, July 3 to open for Gin Blossoms and the Pat McGee Band 05/08/08
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Tripper announced today that it will return to the DTE Energy Music Theatre (Clarkston, Mich.) to open for the Gin Blossoms and The Pat McGee Band on July 3 at 7:00 p.m. Tripper fans will remember the band opened for the Gin Blossoms at DTE back in 2004 in a show that some fans called “The best show they’d ever seen. Ever.”
“We’re really looking forward to it,” said Tripper guitarist Steve Marvicsin. “You simply cannot beat playing at DTE on a summer night. It’s an excellent place to see a show, let alone play there.”
Since 2004, Tripper has established a solid relationship with Palace Sports and Entertainment, the entity responsible for DTE, performing at several of the company’s venues. The 2004 Gin Blossoms show marked the band’s first trip to the DTE stage.
“Definitely one of the coolest things you could ever ask for as a musician,” said Tripper singer/guitarist, Frank Buscemi. "As I said before, I saw my first concert there as a 10-year-old and it made me want to play that stage. And, at the last show, we had a great time with the Gin Blossoms guys, as well as Seven Mary Three, so we’re really looking forward to getting back out there."
